Weight Loss
Whether your weight loss goal is for health benefits, cosmetic purposes, or enhanced athletic performance the bottom line is that obesity has received much attention over the last decade. It is known that about one out of every three adults and nearly one out of every five children over the age of six are considered obese. For the first time in recorded human history children will be dying before their parents due to medical conditions related to obesity (i.e. heart disease, diabetes). Due to excess weight, children are also suffering from such orthopedic conditions as back pain, neck pain, knee pain, and increased risk of sports/recreational injuries. Following a systematic, progressive, and integrated exercise program our Certified Personal Trainers will help you achieve your weight loss goals.

  Muscle Toning/Muscle Building
It is generally known that a significant difference between developing muscle tone and developing muscle mass is using lighter weights with higher repetitions for increased tone and using heavier weights with less repetitions for increasing mass. Although adjusting these two variables is true there are a great deal more that must be addressed to achieve your goals, such as; rest periods, number of training days, total volume, nutritional intake and timing, specific exercise protocols, and periodization (changing your exercise program at regular intervals). Whether your goal is to increase tone or develop more muscle mass our Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialists have the knowledge, skills, and abilities to get you there.

        Corrective Exercise
The human body is susceptible to faulty movement and muscle imbalances. Many common causes of movement dysfunctions include repetitive movements, over use, sedentary living, and incorrect movement techniques. These dysfunctions in turn lead to many of the common injuries seen today as well as decreased athletic and functional performance. Our Certified Corrective Exercise Specialists utilize a systematic corrective exercise strategy to identify and address these movement dysfunctions via a comprehensive movement analysis, followed up with a corrective exercise protocol to address movement impairments.

Performance Training

Speed, Agility, and Quickness
Speed is often the most important factor in differentiating between being a great athlete and being a good athlete. Speed was once viewed as being a genetic trait that could not be improved. However, this belief has been found to be false, and that speed is a training component for enhanced sports performance. Athletes can improve running speed by following our well-designed and scientifically based training program. The ability to quickly change direction is often the difference between success and failure. Virtually all sports involve whole-body movements that require athletes to rapidly and instantly accelerate, decelerate, or change direction in response to game situations. Our Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialists know what it takes to help you reach your maximal linear speed and explosive agility and quickness potentials.

 Endurance, Strength, and Power
The second law of motion states that force is equal to mass times acceleration. Increasing muscle size without also increasing the ability to produce force does nothing to improve the ability to accelerate, and therefore does not relate directly to enhanced athletic performance. Strength training for enhanced performance should focus on increasing force-producing capacity not on increasing muscle size. Our sports performance program performs a "Needs Analysis" to find out exactly what our athletes need to enhance their performance in not only the sport they play but the position as well. For example, our strength and conditioning program for a wide receiver would be very different from that of a linebacker.

            Sport-Specificity
All technique development must enable the athlete to carry out the sport-specific requirements. Armed with the results of your Needs Analysis, our Certified Strength and Condition Specialists will be able to break down the sport specific requirements and identify key elements that need to be developed. Acceleration, for example, for a tennis player should involve the use of a racket, and any position attained must enable the player to play the required shot. In this way, elements such as balls can be integrated into the speed training session, providing a sport-specific practice.

*All Sports Performance Training programs are provided by a
